15 Nov 23

This paper was launched on Wednesday 15th November 2023 during Psychological Professions Week 2023

On Wednesday 15th November 2023, the Psychological Professions Network national team delivered an in-person day in London:

Unite, Inspire and Transform: Integrating psychologically informed practice into physical health and care.

This event was designed to unite professionals, policymakers, and experts by experience to inspire a collective effort in transforming physical health and care through psychological practice. The PPN discussion paper ‘Psychological Practice in Physical Health’ provided a framework for the day, with additional strategic context being the NHS Major Conditions Strategy Case for Change.

The paper sets out a case for change encouraging physical and psychological interventions to be delivered in collaborating with each other. The paper also discussed recommendations to reach this goal as well as next steps to support the integration of physical and psychological care within the NHS.
