The purpose of the PPN Psychologically Informed Crisis Care Project is to join up the professional group across the region in order to:
- Develop and implement a work plan that is consistent with the broader aims of the PPN and is signed off by the Workforce Council.
- Inform a paper commissioned by NHSE WT&E on the development of psychologically informed crisis care in the South East region.
- Consider best practice, innovative practice and gaps.
- Map the urgent care workforce in the region
- Consider any training recommendations for crisis teams that promote psychologically informed care and practice
- Provide a forum where practitioners can share their collective knowledge and skills on clinical, professional and workforce issues, both to each other, and for wider circulation.
- Have a joined up strategic voice for crisis care psychological practitioners at the PPN Workforce Council, where key stakeholders across the region are represented and the work of the PPN is steered.
- Promote this professional role, and contribute to collaboratively shaping the work of the PPN and the delivery of psychological healthcare.
- Promote and encourage the participation of and guidance from Experts by Experience in the work of the project in order to innovate and improve patient care across the region. In particular, to incorporate the views of those with lived experience of crisis service provision given by a psychological professional
- Disseminate information and encourage a shared understanding of the psychological practitioner role in crisis care.
- Contribute to any consultations that are relevant to these roles and this work.
- Contribute to research relevant to Crisis care
- Consider the professional development needs of psychological practitioners in crisis care in the region, and promote and organise CPD events to support professional development and delivery of care.
This list is not exhaustive, as the project and community of practice is evolving, developing and growing.
The steering group is designed to discuss and support the development and production of the work by the Crisis Fellows.
